VALUE IN ENTERPRISE DEVELOPEMENT

Enterprise development is literarily value creation enshrined in system and structures. The main genesis of an enterprising environment is enshrined in a culture that promotes value creation.

Enterprise therefore, is a business system built around consistent value creation.

So, in building an enterprise, the major and the first thing to consider is the value. The value could exist as the main product which is developed out of the mission statement which unequivocally states the “WHY” of your business.

Understanding your value therefore, is the first step in creating a successful enterprise. However, to ensure continuous sustainability, profitability and equitability, you build a system around your value. A system is an interconnection of diverse resources; technology, human and material resources (that is) which must then be well structured and engineered to deliver maximum result.

BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY “developing your business from philosophical guide”

Many so called “entrepreneurs” sometimes try to copy and implement the organizational strategy and models of some successful firms. They do this expecting an instant success. But most times, they fail. Why?

Years ago, a particular international brand attempted producing a product that will rival a major international soft drink. Of course, the system, structures and policy for the rival product were well laid and orchestrated, yet the product failed.
Why? You may ask; it’s because the counter brand fails to take into cognizance the “domineering force” of philosophy.

What then is business philosophy?

Business philosophy is an underlying ideology that births the formation of a business organization. It is the centralized thought that gives an organization its uniqueness, determines its model and structures.

Philosophy birthing businesses is usually non-concrete, but therein lies a wisdom that not only cause the success of such business, but it also determine its distinctiveness.

So, to succeed as a business leader,

a. Sit the centralized principle that births your enterprise. For instance, that of coca-cola is refreshment. Understanding this, will help you in accurately engineering a product out of that prevailing philosophy. That is what gives uniqueness and utmost success.

b. After understanding your philosophy, you will need to creatively engineer your philosophy to produce products that will adequately cater for the various sector of the economy. For instance, if your centralizing philosophy is communication; creatively create a communication product that will adequately cater for the needs in education, health care and other sector of the economy.

MONEY SENSE 1

Money is just a means of exchange. It is an intertwining medium for meeting need. Money itself is not the “ESSENCE”, it is a medium, definitely not the primary, but the secondary. Its’ what we get after fully satisfying the primary.

So what’s the primary?

The primary is all about meeting needs and creating values that will promote ‘serenity’ of human life. It’s all about meeting and making human life better, more enhanced, more fulfilling, more enjoyable, more blissful and more peaceful, saturating the whole of the “ADAMIC” race with peace, joy, tranquility, freedom and a great deal of happiness.

How do I do this, you’d ask?

The Bible says in 2peter 1:3 that “God has given us what we need for life and godliness…….”

You see, there lies in everyone an innate expression of life that can easily be converted into a product and service that meets need and solve problems. Ability to recognize this, is the first step towards living a life of peace and utmost fulfillment. The mindset that knows that “we’re all” here on earth for each other, helping and nurturing each other to grow, mature and become more lively, fully expressing the truth that lies in each and everyone of us is an healthy mindset.

Recognizing this innate ability, you are to develop and make it to become so refined so as to give people the best and not a marketing gimmick to beat competitors. But rather, be people focused, concentrating your development towards effectively serving and meeting their needs. WHY? Because they deserve the best.

After developing this skill and innate ability educationally or otherwise, you then have to look for ways to be of service to people either through an existing corporation or independently.

MONEY SENSE II

There are some fundamental wisdom that goes into making and increasing money. Remember, money is not the essence but rather, it is an instrument for satisfying basic needs.

WHAT ARE THEN MY BASIC NEEDS?

The bible says “Godliness with contentment is great gain”. There are some fundamental lies that we have absorbed as the truth. For instance, it’s a lie that what makes you better appreciated and respected is when you have the so-called “FLASHY STUFF” like say a $100,000 diamond ring, driving the latest posh car or living in an exclusive elitist estate.
The true definition of man is not in the things he own; rather the true definition of a man is in who he is. Who you are determines what you own and not otherwise.
So, start asking yourself the basic question; what do I truly need? Ability to correctly know what you need impacts a sense of seriousness and responsibility which makes you to effectively and judiciously apply your income towards satisfying your needs. Never get caught in the web of trying to show forth; wanting to get things to make yourself appreciated, wanted or revered. Such things will never last long and you will constantly find yourself running to keep getting things that will keep you more indebted until you finally burn out.
Rather, be wise. Know what your real need is, save more and invest “saved income” on good, solid and tested investment package(s).

WEALTH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT “the correction”

Most people advocate building business to build wealth, I advocate creating value. Don’t build business with the mindset of creating wealth, of course wealth is important, instead build a business with an underlined value mantra to ensure and promote your s.e.p. i.e. sustainability, equitability and profitability.

Sustainability will ensure a continuous and a consistent organizational structure structured towards creating value for the long time, equitability will make you responsible to your employees and customers while profitability will ensure the promotion and enhancement of your s.e. (sustainability and equitability).


DEVELOPING BUSINESS PRODUCTS ; OBJECTIVE BASED PERSPECTIVE

To develop a product that will effectively meet market needs. You’d have to;

“Re-evaluate your objectives”

Your objective is what you set out to do i.e. needs or problems you intend solving. Comprehensively, your objective is that centralized aim which is a clear indication of what will be achieved as a result of your presence in the market place.
Thus, in developing a product from an objective perspective, you’d have to clarify both the primary and secondary reason why people need your service(s). for instance, the primary reason people go over to a barbing saloon is to get rid of their hair while the secondary reason may include; wanting to look good, having an healthy and sensible appearance or wanting to spend their evening in a cool and serene environment with lots of guys to chat with while at the same time getting rid of their hair.
Also the primary reason you go over to MacDonald’s is to fill up your belly but you wouldn’t go there if their outlets is poorly organized coupled with poor food quality. Therefore, your primary aim is wanting to be filled while your secondary aim includes; excellent and good quality food served in an organized and serene environment. Right?
Thus in developing a product that will have sustained influence in the marketplace, you’d have to list and clarify both the primary and secondary reason people would need your services. This, will help in clarifying lots of (product development) issues and help in designing product that will have sustained influence in the marketplace


GLO-LOCAL BUSINESS OPERATION; DEVELOPING A GLOBAL BUSINESS FROM A LOCAL PERSPECTIVE

Building a successful organization requires a detail and effective analysis of the environmental conditioning in which your firm is operating in. A lot of businesses have declared bankruptcy because they never take into cognizance, the social and macro-economic conditioning of their operating environment.

For instance, in Africa, most global and even local conglomerates are shutting down their operations basically because they have not been able to effectively modify their operations to fit into the local conditioning system inherent within the continent. You see, that a venture succeeded in Asia does not necessarily mean it will be successful in Africa and a success witnessed in South Africa does not guarantee a success in Nigeria. Why? You’d ask, it is basically because of the differences in the operating environment.

A story was told of recent, about a western food company who opened a food store in a West African country using the same delicacy used in their home country. The problem was that while Africans prefer pepper, countries in the western world prefer other peppermint. The non inclusion of this, was responsible for their failure.
This company would still have been able to record outstanding success if they have been able to understand the socio-cultural condition of their operating environment.

Also, there is the need to understand that, before an idea or business venture can thrive in a particular operating environment, the required “system” needed for the success of such idea must have been built. It is this system that will serve as foundational basis upon which the success of such an idea or venture will rest.

Thus, to succeed in a particular business environment, a business leader must be able to;

a. Understand the social and economic conditioning of their operating environment.

b. Investigate and discover the socio-economic structure and system of that environment.

c. Create and design business operation to fit into the socio-economic conditioning of that area leveraging on the available local structure to promote the advancement of your enterprise.

Also, You must understand the futuristic dynamism of social structure and create a flexible business and organizational structure that will not only successfully incorporate futuristic change but will also serve as a change catalyst in developing existing local structure and system with a view of fast-tracking local and communal development.
